You will all be pleased to know that we have arrived, after twenty five and a half hours, at our destination in high spirits. After shocking UK traffic and then a choppy ferry, we made great time across the continent, passing through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and finally into Austria. I am sure you will agree that we covered a significant proportion of Europe in little over a day...
The coach is to be our trusty steed for the week, and has served us well. Our drivers, Roddie and Phil have really gone the extra mile so far for us.
The birthday boy, celebrating his sixteenth birthday on the English Channel!
It was more than a little breezy up on deck, and a few queasy faces were seen....
Inside, the ferry was snug and comfortable.
If I had the tools available on Mr. Fowler's laptop, I would edit out the redeye. Some may think it's an improvement...
Ensconsed in our hotel, and after a day of scratching a living from service stations the boys were down early for their first proper meal in Austria!
We have single occupancy in the hotel, which is always a great thing to have, and our rooms are neat and comfortable. Also, the showers are awesome. Anyone who has been on a skiing holiday will know just how heartening that is.
The Helmet Cover of Shame has been awarded to Paul Goddard for the first day en piste. Despite having packed his bag himself, he couldn't find his bag in the hotel reception. After four attempts. Despite it being the last one there. The only way is up, Paul!
Quiz time! Calm down, Henry....
It wouldn't be Mr. Fowler's quiz without the silly rounds! Cracker eating, water boat racing, Malteser moving and of course 'spoon in mouth no hands competitive Cheerio conveyance'. Catchy.
Well, tomorrow we are off to Kaltenbach - the weather has been cold, and so the snow is excellent for this late in the season. The area itself is excellent for both beginners and experts alike, and so we will hopefully be able to post some action packed pics soon!
Good night all,
Mr. N.
